Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ the Messiah! As we transition into a new administration, we want to thank God for all the incoming and the former Moderators,

Auxiliary heads, and Chairpersons of the Gaston County Missionary Baptist Association.

Our fundamental living Scripture from Jesus Christ remains the same and that is "The Great Commission" found in Matthew 28:19-20. Our Theme will be "A Mandate, A Message, and A Mission." As Christians we all are commission to go and teach all nations, but we must first start at home, just as the disciples started in Jerusalem.

Missiology is the area of Practical theology that deals with the Mandate, Message, and Mission of the Christian Church, especially the nature of Missionary work. It deals with the nature of God, the created world, and the Church. In other words we must deal with the whole of humankind. Heart, Mind, Body, and Soul.

In Closing I would like to reference the beginning history of the 1954 Gaston County Missionary Baptist Association. "We the Missionary Baptist Churches, composing the Gaston County Missionary Association holding membership in the General Baptist State Convention of N.C. representing Jesus Christ were convinced of the necessity of a fellowship. The purpose is to promote Missions, Religious Education, Christian Service, the preaching of the Gospel. Article III recognizes the independence of the respective Churches and encourages unity, ministerial usefulness, promotes Christian Education, Missions, protects the purity of the Churches and in general advances the cause of Christ in every possible way."

Today, Our Mission remains the same "to Go into all the world and win souls to Christ!

Everybody loves M&M'S,  Everybody have heard of the 3M Corp.  Now we hear of  "A Mandate, A Message, and A Mission"

Humbly Submitted in Jesus Name,

Pastor Thomas S. Gillespie/M,Div.
